The Flood (2023) begins in a small Louisiana town preparing for a violent hurricane expected to sweep across the region overnight. As residents evacuate, a prison transport bus arrives at the local sheriff’s station, carrying a group of high-risk inmates who need to be temporarily housed until the storm passes. Among them is Russell Cody, a former soldier with a complicated past, whose quiet demeanor contrasts sharply with the dangerous criminals chained beside him. The incoming storm forces the officers to move quickly, securing the inmates while the wind begins to tear at the building’s walls.
As the hurricane intensifies, rising floodwaters cut off the station from the outside world. Power flickers, communication lines fail, and the officers realize they will be facing the night alone. What they don’t expect, however, is that the storm has driven a pack of large, aggressive alligators inland. The creatures slip through the overwhelmed drainage systems and into the station’s lower levels, silently claiming the building as their new hunting ground. At first, the officers assume the strange noises echoing through the corridors are from structural damage—until the first attack occurs.
Tensions rise further when a group of armed mercenaries arrives, using the chaos of the storm as cover. Their goal is not rescue but extraction: one of the inmates holds information worth a fortune, and the mercenaries intend to get him out, no matter how many people die in the process. The prisoners quickly realize they are trapped between two deadly threats—trained killers on one side and relentless alligators on the other.

Cody emerges as an unlikely leader when the mercenaries breach the station, using military tactics to navigate the building. Although the officers distrust him, they have little choice but to rely on his expertise. Together with a handful of survivors, he forms a fragile alliance to hold off the attackers while avoiding the flooded corridors where the alligators lurk. The creature attacks grow more frequent as the water level rises, forcing everyone into dwindling areas of safety.

As the night deepens, the mercenaries’ plan unravels under the weight of the storm and the growing carnage. Cody confronts their leader in a tense showdown, fighting both the hostile humans and the predators emerging from the water. The station collapses around them, turning every room into a battleground of debris, gunfire, and snapping jaws.
In the film’s final moments, the surviving officers and inmates escape onto the roof just as rescue helicopters arrive at dawn. Cody disappears into the flooded streets, leaving his ultimate fate uncertain, while the storm finally breaks—its destruction matched only by the ferocity of the creatures it unleashed.
